Football

Muddy, cold, but not raining - Portland kids need to take advantage of the sunshine whenever it graces us with a visit.

Spring Cleaning

Two day and three trips to Goodwill (to dump, not hunt!) later...

If you didn't see our bonus room before, this picture doesn't mean anything. To the rest of you...aren't you proud? :)

X-Ray

Last night at scouts, Matthew took on a group of 3rd graders for a game of basketball. Somewhere along the way, he fell and got stepped on. He started complaining of wrist pain and continued to mention it through this morning. Dr. Jeffreys wanted to look at it, so off to the hospital we went. 2.5 hours later, we learn that there is no break, just a bad bruise. Yeay! He can still play basketball.

Matthew was quite thrilled to get an xray (just like his big brother, he said) - he was bummed he didn't get a picture of it though.

**update: the wonderful Dr. Jeffreys DID mail him a copy of his xray!

Matthewism

As Mike was tucking Matthew in tonight, I overheard this question to him from Matthew:

"Does Mommy ever sleep? Because everytime I see her, she's awake."

I love that he thinks I can manage that. I only wish that my true mommy superpower was no need for sleep!

And with that...I'm off to bed.

An update for my stalkers...

I see I still have visitors! How flattering! Since there are a few with an apparent dying need to know what's up with me...I figured I could indulge you with an update. If you're a good stalker, you probably don't need an update...but let's make it official anyhow. :)

I'm marrying the kindest, more generous and loyal man I've ever known...

Under this amazing tree....on some sunny day in the future.

I'm a 4.0 nursing student (my childhood dream coming true!), spending my days alternating studying, working out with a trainer (I need my bikini body back for Hawaii in a few months) and taxiing my children to sporting events. I celebrated 4 years clean and sober a few months ago. It took quite a fight, but I'm definitely on my way now. It took me awhile to realize that life is simply too precious to stay stuck where I was unhappy. There's amazing freedom in realizing that I am the master of my own destiny. Life is grand!

I have the most amazing relationship today...I'm the luckiest girl to have such an incredible man step up and love not only me, but my beautiful children, without hesitation. He has taught all of us the true meaning of unconditional love. I'm so grateful to have found my health, strength and forever family.

Sending love and light to everyone else - hoping you are on your way to such amazing things as well!

What a blast! My two days of prep - equalling approximately 10 hours of kitchen time - were totally worth it! Matthew had a good time...the food turned out pretty well and the cake and cupcakes were a huge success! Yeay!
